Bio

Le Vieux Chemin de Cap Rouge (The Old Road to Cap Rouge) follows an old unused section of the Cabot Trail that used to link Cheticamp to Pleasant Bay. There are still old foundations remaining from Acadian settlers who started settling in the area around 1891.

It is a well-maintained trail with a few nice views along the way. There is an alternate trailhead near the Trout Brook area as well which some hikers prefer to start from. Cyclists are welcome on this trail.

Directions

The trail head is located along the Cabot Trail shortly after entering the park from the Cheticamp side. There is a small parking lot near the signage.
